Add a free AI detector to your website
Copy one snippet into your page and your visitors can check text for AI writing patterns without leaving it. There’s no sign-up and no key, and the box shows no ads.
This is the real widget. Paste at least 80 words and try it.

What your visitors get
The same detector that runs on our AI detector page, in a smaller box. A visitor pastes text and gets an AI-pattern score from 0 to 100, a verdict, how confident the check is, and the range the score most likely falls in. Every sentence is shaded green, amber or red, so they can see where the patterns are rather than trusting one number.
The language is detected by itself. There are dedicated models for 16 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese and Japanese. Other languages still get a result, from a general model, with a less confident report.
In our blind test on 28 September 2026 the detector classified all 24 texts correctly (12 AI, 12 human, in five languages). On held-out sets in 14 languages it caught 90% to 98% of full-length AI texts. The full test is on the detector page.
How to add it
| Where your site runs | Where the snippet goes |
|---|---|
| WordPress | Add a Custom HTML block to the page or post and paste the snippet into it. |
| Google Sites | Insert, then Embed, then the Embed code tab. |
| Wix | Add an Embed HTML element (under Embed Code) and paste the snippet as code. |
| Blogger | In a post, switch to HTML view. For the sidebar, add an HTML/JavaScript gadget in Layout. |
| Your own HTML | Paste it where you want the box to appear. Nothing goes in the <head>. |
The snippet is a single iframe. It doesn’t run any script on your page and can’t read anything on it.
Limits
Each check takes between 80 and 3,000 words. Below 80 words the result is too unreliable to show, so the box asks for more. Each visitor can run 6 checks a minute and 100 a day. The limits count per visitor, so one busy page doesn’t use up an allowance shared by everyone else.
Everyone uses the widget as a guest. That’s because browsers don’t send our sign-in cookie to a page that sits inside another site. People who want longer documents, file uploads or the full report with a reason for every sentence can open the full detector from the box.
Use it fairly
If you teach, this matters more than anything else on the page. An AI detector gives a probability, and it gets things wrong in both directions. Formal writing, short samples and second-language English are flagged more often, whoever wrote them. The widget says this under every result. Please don’t open a misconduct case on a score alone. Our academic integrity page explains what a score can and can’t support.
The credit line
The snippet can include one line under the box: “AI detector by AI Writing Assistant”, linking to the detector. It’s visible and plain, with our name as the link text. You can leave it out with the setting above, and the widget works exactly the same.
Questions about the widget
Is the AI detector widget free?
Yes. There’s nothing to sign up for and no key to paste. Copy the snippet, put it on your page, and it works.
Does it store what my visitors paste?
No. The text is sent to run the check and isn’t stored as text afterwards or used for training. The widget shows no ads, runs no analytics and doesn’t save the text in the visitor’s browser.
How many checks can a visitor run?
Each check takes 80 to 3,000 words. A visitor can run 6 checks a minute and 100 a day. Those limits count per visitor, not per website, so a busy page doesn’t use up one shared allowance.
Can I remove the credit line under the box?
Yes. It’s a plain link with our name, and the widget works the same without it. We’d be glad if you kept it, but it isn’t a condition.
Can I change the size or the colours?
You can set the width and height on the iframe to anything that fits your layout, and choose a light theme, a dark theme, or one that follows each visitor’s system setting. The colours inside the box are fixed so the result bands always mean the same thing.
Will it slow my page down?
The snippet is a single iframe with loading="lazy", so the browser only fetches it when a visitor scrolls near it. It loads one small script and one stylesheet of its own and nothing on your page.
Do Pro accounts get their higher limits in the widget?
No. Browsers don’t send our sign-in cookie to a page that sits inside someone else’s site, so everyone uses the widget as a guest. Pro limits apply on the full AI detector.
Is there an API instead?
Not a public one. The widget is the supported way to put the detector on another site.
