Because the em dash is the safest mark a model can pick: it joins two clauses without committing to how they relate. A person uses a handful per page; a generated draft can use several per paragraph. Read the draft aloud and replace most of them with a full stop.
Rewrite the opening in your own words, vary your sentence lengths deliberately, and add one specific thing only you could know. No tool can supply that last part.
An unedited draft usually will be, by our own AI Detector and by others, because detectors look for even sentence rhythm and an absence of specifics. Editing genuinely changes that. Detectors also produce false positives on human writing, so treat any score as a signal rather than a verdict.
No. Google’s spam policies target scaled content abuse — many pages made primarily to manipulate rankings rather than help people — and state that this applies no matter how the content was created. One carefully edited article is fine; a sweep of near-identical pages is not.
Plagiarism means presenting someone else’s work as your own. Generated text is not copied from a specific source, so it is not plagiarism in that sense. It can still breach an academic or workplace AI policy, which is a separate rule.
You do. Our terms state that we claim no ownership of the results generated for you, so the text is yours to publish, sell or adapt. Those terms also make you responsible for reviewing output before publishing.
It is instructed not to invent statistics, quotes, citations, prices or dates, and to say when a source is thin rather than padding. That holds most of the time and is not a guarantee, so check anything you would not want to be wrong about.
No. Documents are processed in memory and are never written to our servers, and your text is not used for training. Drafts are saved in your own browser so a refresh does not lose them — you can reopen them from My drafts at any time.
