- Analytics only with your permission. Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you agree; refuse and nothing is requested from Google.
- Advertising cookies exist only on free plans, via Google AdSense, and only with your consent.
- Pro has zero ads and zero advertising cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser; local storage is a similar browser feature for remembering preferences. This policy explains each category and why it exists. Essential cookies
These are required for the Service to work and cannot be switched off:

Preference storage (localStorage)
These live in your browser's local storage, never leave your device by themselves, and can be cleared any time via your browser:
- Theme — your light/dark/system choice.
- Dismissed messages — for example, hiding a promotional banner so it doesn't reappear.
- Editor hand‑off — text you type in the homepage box is passed to the tool you pick via short‑lived session storage in your own browser, then cleared.
Analytics cookies (only if you agree)
We would like to know which tools people actually use and what fails, so we can fix the right things. That is Google Analytics 4.
The Google tag loads on every page, but until you agree it runs with storage switched off: no cookie is set and no identifier is kept, so it cannot tell you apart from anyone else or recognise you on a later visit. What Google receives in that state is a single anonymous, cookieless signal that a page was viewed — enough to estimate how many people came, not enough to know who. Say yes and it can count returning visits properly. Say no and it stays in that restricted state permanently.

What is recorded: the pages you open, which tool you ran, a rough size band for the request (for example “250–1,000 characters”), whether it succeeded or hit a limit, whether you signed up or started a checkout, and the standard device, browser and approximate‑location information Google collects. What is never recorded: a single word of what you write. The text is not read, not measured beyond its length, and not sent anywhere.
Your IP address is anonymised, and Google advertising and cross‑device features stay switched off unless you separately allow advertising cookies. Analytics data is deleted after 14 months. Change or withdraw your answer at any time on the Cookie Preferences page, or by clearing this site’s stored data there.
Advertising cookies (free plans only)
To keep free plans free, pages may show ads served by Google AdSense — only for guests and free accounts. When ads are active, Google may set cookies to serve and measure ads (and, where you have consented, to personalize them). Pro subscribers get no ads and no advertising cookies — the advertising code does not load at all on Pro accounts.
Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies, they are used only with your consent, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also control ad personalization in your Google Ads Settings and learn more in Google cookie documentation.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may sign you out or prevent guest limits from working correctly, but the writing tools themselves will still function. Clearing local storage resets preferences such as your theme choice.
