- No optional cookie is set without your yes. Analytics is the one thing we ask for; refuse and it keeps running with storage switched off, unable to recognise you.
- What we do keep is a sign-in cookie, and your own work saved in your own browser so you do not lose it when a tab closes.
- Your documents are saved on your device, not on our servers. That is why the list below is longer than you might expect — and why none of it reaches us.
- You can record an advertising preference now too. Advertising is not running yet; the answer is kept and honoured the moment it is.
1. What is set right now
No optional cookie exists until you allow one. Advertising is not running at all — no AdSense script loads on any page. The Google Analytics tag does load, but until you allow it in section 2 it runs with storage denied: no _ga cookie is written and no identifier is kept, so it cannot recognise you or follow you between visits. You can verify that yourself — open your browser's developer tools, look at the cookies stored for this site, and you will find no _ga cookie until you have said yes.
Many sites show a consent banner that asks permission for cookies they have already set, or for cookies they do not set at all. We would rather show you the actual list and let you check it.
What is set falls into three groups: one essential cookie that keeps you signed in, your saved work, which stays in your browser, and small preferences like your theme choice — plus two analytics cookies if, and only if, you allow them below. Section 3 lists every single item.
2. Your choices
The free plans are intended to be supported by advertising eventually. When that happens, ad cookies will be set only on free plans, only by Google AdSense, and only where you have agreed. Pro accounts will never load the advertising code at all.
You can record your choice now. Storing it early means the preference is already in place on the day advertising launches, rather than you meeting a banner.
Your choice is stored in your own browser under the key aiwa_consent_v1. It is not sent to us, is not attached to your account, and does not follow you to another device or browser. If you clear your browser data it will be forgotten, and the safe default — no advertising cookies — applies again.

If you have not allowed analytics, aiwa_session is the only cookie on this site and no third‑party cookie exists at all.
Your answer to the analytics and advertising questions is kept in this browser under aiwa_consent_v1, listed with the other preferences below. It is never sent to us and never attached to your account.
Local storage — your work
Every tool keeps its working document in your browser so that closing a tab, refreshing, or a crash does not lose what you were writing. These never leave your device. They are the reason we can promise your documents are not stored on our servers — the copy lives with you.

4. Clearing what is stored
You can remove everything this site has put in your browser, at any time, without an account and without asking us.
What this deletes: your saved drafts library, every tool's working document, your preferences, and your recorded advertising choice. It cannot be undone, and we cannot restore any of it — we never had a copy.
It does not delete your account or anything held on our servers. To delete your account, use the Danger zone on your account page.
5. Browser-level controls
You can also work at the browser level, which covers every site rather than just this one.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser's privacy settings. Blocking the essential cookie will sign you out and prevent guest limits from working correctly, but the writing tools themselves will still run.
- Clear site data for aiwritingassistant.net from your browser's site-settings panel — equivalent to the button in section 4.
- Private or incognito windows discard everything when the window closes, including your drafts.
- Ad personalisation across Google's services can be controlled in your Google Ad Settings, independently of anything we do.
