Paste Italian and every issue is underlined where it happens, labelled spelling, grammar, punctuation or style, with the reason attached. Italian is written in the Latin alphabet, and agreement, the accent on è, apostrophes, double consonants are what a checker has to get right in it. This one shows the rule each time, not just the change, so you can accept the fix, ignore it, or learn from it.
Three steps. The third is the one most checkers leave out.
Type, paste or drop in a document. Italian is already selected as the language on this page. If the text turns out to be something else, the detector says so and you can change it.
Every flag is underlined in the text and listed beside it. Spelling and grammar flags are errors; punctuation and style flags are judgements, and the label tells you which is which before you decide.
Click a flag to see the fix and the rule behind it, then accept it or ignore it. Italian has rules that speech does not reveal, and the reason is there so the same error is not made twice.
The parts of Italian grammar and spelling where a checker has to know the language, not just the words.
Five errors Italian readers notice at once, and what the checker does with each.
È is the verb; e is and. The accent is not optional, and replacing it with an apostrophe (e’) is a typing habit that counts as a spelling error.
Un amico, un’amica. The apostrophe marks the dropped -a of una; masculine un never takes one.
Qual’è is one of the most common written errors in Italian. Qual is a truncated form, not an elided one, so no apostrophe.
Penso che abbia ragione, credo che sia vero. Using the indicative here is accepted in casual speech and marked as an error in writing.
Sopratutto is wrong (soprattutto), so is inverno with a double n. The checker treats a missing or extra double as spelling, and shows the standard form.
Tu against Lei: Lei takes third-person singular verbs (Lei ha, Lei può) and the possessive Suo, and it is the default with strangers, customers and anyone senior. A letter that moves from Lei to tu without meaning to is a real mistake.
The checker flags a mixed register as style rather than as an error, so the decision stays yours. If a whole text needs to move from one register to the other, the tone changer rewrites it in one pass.

Yes. Check Italian without an account, within the per-check and daily word allowances shown beside the editor. Signing in raises them, and Pro removes the guest limits and the ads. The pricing page lists what each plan includes.
Standard written Italian, spelled as the current standard has it. Double consonants change the word (pena, penna; casa, cassa; sono, sonno), and the apostrophe pairs are the classic errors: un amico but un’amica, qual è with no apostrophe, po’ with one, da’ as the imperative of dare. Italian is preselected on this page; the language menu above the editor changes it if the text turns out to be something else.
Yes, and in Italian the two overlap. Double consonants change the word (pena, penna; casa, cassa; sono, sonno), and the apostrophe pairs are the classic errors: un amico but un’amica, qual è with no apostrophe, po’ with one, da’ as the imperative of dare. Each of these is underlined where it happens, labelled spelling or grammar, with the standard form and the rule beside it.
Not unless you ask it to. A check corrects what is wrong and leaves your sentences as you wrote them; every change is a separate flag you accept or ignore. The Improve and Rewrite passes, which do change wording, are separate buttons, and the paraphraser is a separate tool.
Yes. Paste the text or drop in a .docx, .pdf or .txt file; the document is checked paragraph by paragraph and the corrected version can be copied or exported. Long documents are checked within the per-check allowance and continue as you scroll.
That is where the reason attached to each flag earns its keep. Articles, adjectives and past participles agree in gender and number, and the article itself changes with the following sound: il libro, lo studente, l’amico, gli amici. A learner sees which rule was broken, not just the corrected word, and can accept the fix or read why it was raised before deciding.
Translate the corrected Italian, change its tone, or shorten it. One plan covers every tool.
Each page opens the checker with that language already selected and explains what it looks for in it. The picker above the editor covers more than seventy languages in all.
