Paste or upload the Russian
Type, paste or drop in a document. Russian is already selected as the language on this page. If the text turns out to be something else, the detector says so and you can change it.
Check Russian spelling, grammar and punctuation free. Every issue underlined where it happens, with the reason attached.
Let’s write!
Start typing, paste your text, or upload a Word, PDF or text file. You can also drop a file here.
Paste Russian and every issue is underlined where it happens, labelled spelling, grammar, punctuation or style, with the reason attached. Russian is written in the Cyrillic alphabet, and six cases, -тся and -ться, не with verbs, commas are what a checker has to get right in it. This one shows the rule each time, not just the change, so you can accept the fix, ignore it, or learn from it.
Three steps. The third is the one most checkers leave out.
Type, paste or drop in a document. Russian is already selected as the language on this page. If the text turns out to be something else, the detector says so and you can change it.
Every flag is underlined in the text and listed beside it. Spelling and grammar flags are errors; punctuation and style flags are judgements, and the label tells you which is which before you decide.
Click a flag to see the fix and the rule behind it, then accept it or ignore it. Russian has rules that speech does not reveal, and the reason is there so the same error is not made twice.
The parts of Russian grammar and spelling where a checker has to know the language, not just the words.
Five errors Russian readers notice at once, and what the checker does with each.
Он учится (he studies, third person, no soft sign) but он хочет учиться (infinitive, soft sign). Ask what does he do? for -тся, what to do? for -ться.
Together with nouns, adjectives and adverbs when there is no contrast (неправда, недорогой); apart from verbs, participles with dependent words and anything contrasted (не знаю, не дорогой, а дешёвый).
Я знаю, что он придёт. Дом, который стоит на углу. The comma is grammatical, not optional.
Два дома, пять домов; в городе, в город. The noun ending answers to both the preposition and the number.
Подъезжая к станции, у меня слетела шляпа is the textbook error: the participle must share the subject of the main clause.
Ты and Вы: Вы takes the plural verb (Вы знаете) and is the default in business, official and any first contact; capitalising Вы in a letter is polite, in a group message it is wrong. The patronymic (Иван Петрович) accompanies Вы in formal address.
The checker flags a mixed register as style rather than as an error, so the decision stays yours. If a whole text needs to move from one register to the other, the tone changer rewrites it in one pass.
Students in Russia and Russian-speaking students abroad, where -тся/-ться and the commas are marked.
Businesses writing to Russian-speaking customers, where Вы with a capital and the patronymic are expected.
Heritage speakers who speak fluently but write rarely.
Yes. Check Russian without an account, within the per-check and daily word allowances shown beside the editor. Signing in raises them, and Pro removes the guest limits and the ads. The pricing page lists what each plan includes.
Standard written Russian, spelled as the current standard has it. Не written together or apart (неправда, не знаю), -тся/-ться, unstressed vowels in the root (that have to be checked against a stressed form), and the soft sign after ш, ж, ч in the second person (пишешь) are the errors every dictation targets. Russian is preselected on this page; the language menu above the editor changes it if the text turns out to be something else.
Yes, and in Russian the two overlap. Не written together or apart (неправда, не знаю), -тся/-ться, unstressed vowels in the root (that have to be checked against a stressed form), and the soft sign after ш, ж, ч in the second person (пишешь) are the errors every dictation targets. Each of these is underlined where it happens, labelled spelling or grammar, with the standard form and the rule beside it.
Not unless you ask it to. A check corrects what is wrong and leaves your sentences as you wrote them; every change is a separate flag you accept or ignore. The Improve and Rewrite passes, which do change wording, are separate buttons, and the paraphraser is a separate tool.
Yes. Paste the text or drop in a .docx, .pdf or .txt file; the document is checked paragraph by paragraph and the corrected version can be copied or exported. Long documents are checked within the per-check allowance and continue as you scroll.
That is where the reason attached to each flag earns its keep. Six cases and three genders; adjectives, participles and past-tense verbs agree with the noun in gender, number and case: новый дом, новая книга, новые дома, в новом доме. A learner sees which rule was broken, not just the corrected word, and can accept the fix or read why it was raised before deciding.
Translate the corrected Russian, change its tone, or shorten it. One plan covers every tool.
Each page opens the checker with that language already selected and explains what it looks for in it. The picker above the editor covers more than seventy languages in all.
